Diagnosis of type I allergy to food und inhalation allergens
The diagnostics of the Institute of Microecology differentiates between immunoglobulin E-mediated type I allergies and immunoglobulin G-mediated type III allergies and identifies the responsible allergens.
A type I allergy to food or other allergens can be detected by a comprehensive search test or by small individual allergen groups test.
Food Allergies
Food allergen screening test
The search test detects food allergens. The test examines the 30 most common food allergens and covers thus 90 percent of food allergens. The antibodies to the ten most common allergens are tested individually:
Whole egg, cow's milk (raw), wheat, soy, crab, peanut, hazelnut, celery, mustard, kiwi.
Additional 21 allergens are divided into five mixtures:
- Flour: rye flour, oatmeal, sesame meal, cornmeal, buckwheat flour
- Vegetable 1: pea, bean (white), carrot, potato
- Vegetables 2: tomato, spinach, cabbage, peppers
- Fruits 1: banana, orange, apple, peach
- Fruits 2: pineapple, strawberry, pear, lemon
Single food groups
For a targeted search within the groups. The following allergens are individually tested:
- Food 1: whole egg, cow's milk (raw), wheat, soy, crab
- Foods 2: peanut, hazelnut, celery, mustard, kiwi
- Flour: rye flour, oatmeal, sesame meal, cornmeal, buckwheat flour
- Vegetable 1: pea, bean (white), carrot, potato
- Vegetables 2: tomato, spinach, cabbage, peppers
- Fruits 1: banana, orange, apple, peach
- Fruits 2: pineapple, strawberry, pear, lemon
- Spices: vanilla, curry, garlic, nutmeg, pepper
- Cereals, gluten-free: rice, maize, amaranth, millet, quinoa
- Milk: casein, α-lactalbumin, β-lactoglobulin, goat's milk, sheep's milk
Inhalation allergies
Inhalation allergen screening test
The inhalation allergen search test contains the 33 most important allergens from trees and grass pollen, animal epithelia, mold and mites. The ten most common allergens are individually tested: birch, hazel, alder, rye grass, ryegrass, ribwort, Dermatophagoides pteronyssinus, Dermatophagoides farinae, latex and Candida albicans.
Additional 23 allergens are recorded as mixtures:
- Grasses: Lieschgras, ryegrass (Lolch), meadowspine, meadowgrassgras,
gnashgrass - Herbs: ragweed, ragweed ambergrass, margerite, dandelion, goldenrod
- Animal epithelia: cat, dogs (hair), guinea pig, gold hammers
- Animal epithelia: horse, cattle, sheep, rabbit, mink
- Molds: Penicillium notatum, Aspergillus fumigatus, Cladosporium herbarum,
Alternaria tenuis
Inhalation single allergen groups
The inhalation allergens are individually tested in the following groups:
- Inhalation allergen 1: birch, hazel, alder, rye pollen, ryegrass
- Inhalationallergen 2: Spitzwegerich, Dermatophagoides pteronyssinus,
Dermatophagoides farinae, latex, Candida albicans - Grasses: Lieschgras, ryegrass (Lolch), meadowspine, meadowgrassgras,
gnashgrass - Herbs: ragweed, ragweed ambergrass, margerite, dandelion, goldenrod
- Animal epithelia 2: cat, dogs (hair), guinea pig, gold hammers
- Animal epithelia 3: horse, cattle, sheep, rabbit, mink
- Molds: Penicillium notatum, Aspergillus fumigatus, Cladosporium herbarum,
Alternaria tenuis
